September 30th, 2015 – New Brunswick Canada – And so I’ve done “Eastest” in North America. As the weather turns cooler I think I’ll take a cue from the migratory fowl and head south. Not too fast as I don’t like being “swept up” in hurricane season. So far I’ve been back across Newfoundland, back……
Northern Night
September 20th-28th, 2015 – Newfoundland Canada – Finally, some skies clear of both light and smoke. Enough so I’ve been able to play with the camera on some cold crisp nights. So that I have a few pictures to share of what I see looking up into the darkness.

September 28th, 2015 – Codroy Newfoundland – The weather had been really windy with a deep layer of clouds right up until an hour or so before the eclipse on September 28th. The forecast had been calling for clearing just about local midnight, right when the total eclipse was due to end. But the clouds……
Gros Morne National Park (2 of 2) – Tablelands
September 26th, 2015 – Gros Morne NP, NL Canada – The Tablelands is worth a visit. This area of Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland is a bronze barren section of the earth’s mantle left exposed as tectonic plates have drifted. The relative lack of vegetation and the unusual color make it feel otherworldly.
Newfoundland Ferry
September 20th & 28th, 2015 – Nova Scotia to Newfoundland Ferry – I finally had convinced myself that I should take the ferry to Newfoundland. Good thing as Newfoundland was a highlight to me akin to northern Alaska. And, the word ferry describes the purpose, but probably doesn’t conjure up the picture of these huge……
